The Workshop on Compositional Data is intended as a forum for discussion on research issues related
to the statistical treatment and modelling of compositional data, the interpretation of models and
applications involving compositional data. The goal is to identify important potential lines of future
research and gain insight as to how they might be tackled. We intend to bring together researchers,
postgraduate students, as well as those with an interest in the field to share crucial contributions and
recent developments.
The contributions and discussions are planned to move around the
following points:
- Theory and methods
- Applications to life sciences
- Applications to economy, official statistics and social sciences
- Applications to earth sciences
- New teaching and computing tools
The workshop will consist in 2 hour
sessions on the above tentative
points. The chair of each session will present a summary of the
contributions and will stimulate an open discussion on the concerned
topics. Written contributions on these topics, and particularly on
applications, are welcome.
The Organising Committee welcomes abstracts of contributions on the
workshop topics. The abstract should include:
- The title of the
proposed paper
- Sufficient detail (200-400 words) to allow the
Scientific
Committee to judge the contents of the proposed paper
- The name, affiliation, mailing address and e-mail
address of the author(s)
Abstracts should be submitted in
English in PDF format as a text attachment before November 15, 2007, to
codawork08@ima.udg.edu specifying in the mail subject ABSTRACT SUBMISSION.
Notification of
acceptance will be mailed by January 15, 2008. The final electronic paper
will be due before April 1, 2008. It will be sent
in PDF format. They will be published in the CoDaWork’08 CD (with ISBN)
and will be available in the sessions of the workshop as a part of the conference documentation. Only papers of
participants registered before May 1, 2008 will be included in the proceedings CD.
Note 1: Selected papers will be considered for publication in "Statistical and Operations Research Transactions" (SORT).
A standard but expeditious reviewing process will be employed. Only the authors of papers included in the CD-ROM could be encouraged to submit an updated version for possible publication in SORT.
Note 2: Due to the limited number of oral presentations some authors who have submitted an abstract for an oral presentation might be asked to submit a poster presentation instead.
