Personal Homepage

Welcome to my home on the web. My name is Jordi Ripoll and I’m an associate professor in the Departament d'Informàtica i Matemàtica Aplicada at Universitat de Girona, where I’m a member of the research project entitled “Mathematical modelling, theoretical biology and complex networks”.

I received my Ph.D. degree in mathematical sciences from the Universitat de Barcelona in 2005 (thesis: Evolution of Sex-Ratio in Structured Population Dynamics) and I’ve worked on several models of structured population dynamics and biological evolution. Currently I'm working on models of epidemic spreading on complex networks. I have made several postdoctoral research stays and I coauthored several papers in international journals and conferences.

From october 2005 until February 2007 I was a PostDoc fellow at  Dipartimento di Matematica of the Università degli Studi di Trento, Italy. Title of the project: Modelling the spread of infectious diseases.

Member of the societies: Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques (SCM-IEC), and European Society for Mathematical and Theoretical Biology (ESMTB).

Member of the Research group in partial differential equations and applications (GREDPA), and the research group in Biological Modelling and Scientific Computing Trento (BioMaSCoT).

Announcement: workshop on
Epidemics on Networks: Current Trends and Challenges
September 5-7, 2012, Girona.
